Terms of use
Last updated 28 October 2026
These terms apply to the Clockd website and app, (“Clockd”, “we”). You can reach us at hello@clockd.co.za or 076 608 7393. By using Clockd you agree to them on behalf of yourself and the business you use it for.
1. The service
Clockd is an online tool for recording jobs, site visits, hours, travel and materials. It helps you prepare invoices; it does not issue invoices, tax documents or Certificates of Compliance, and it is not accounting or legal advice. You remain responsible for your invoices, COCs and records.
2. Early access
During early access, features may change, and there may be bugs or downtime. We'll do our best to keep your data safe and the service available, and to warn you about planned changes.
3. Accounts
- The owner of a business account decides who can log in and manages workers' usernames and passwords.
- Keep login details private. You're responsible for what's done with your business's logins.
- When a worker leaves, switch their login off in Clockd.
4. Your data
Your job, client and team records belong to your business. You give us permission to store and process them only to run Clockd for you, as described in our privacy policy. You confirm you are allowed to put your clients' and workers' details into Clockd, and you'll tell your workers that Clockd records the time and place of the start and close of a visit.
5. Plans and payment
Prices on the website are in Rand, with no VAT added, and may change; we'll give at least 30 days' notice of a price change for an existing subscription. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly. You can cancel any time; the plan runs until the end of the period already paid for. Payments for a period already started aren't refunded, except where the law requires it.
6. Fair use
Don't use Clockd for anything unlawful, try to access other businesses' data, or interfere with the service. We may suspend accounts that do.
7. Liability
Clockd is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses such as lost profit, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.
8. Ending
You can stop using Clockd at any time. If an account closes, you can export your data for 90 days, after which we delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
9. General
These terms are governed by South African law. Questions: hello@clockd.co.za.
